Frequently Asked Questions

Will I reveal personal secrets whilst in Hypnosis?

No. Hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis, you are in full control of all do. In fact, I don’t even ask you to speak when you are in the relaxed state of hypnosis.

Will I lose consciousness whilst in Hypnosis?

Questions and answersDuring Hypnotherapy the client is always fully aware and in control of everything that happens. It’s like day dreaming, so even if the therapist left the room and never returned you would come round by yourself within a few minutes. Whether working online or face-to-face, should a client fall asleep then they would naturally wake at some point if left to their own devices. Never, in all the years I’ve worked as a hypnotherapist, have I had a problem with a client in this area.

Are there any dangers?

None. You will be in your own environment and will simply be relaxed.  Should you need to become fully alert during the trance part of the session, then you will be able to do this automatically just like snapping yourself out of a day dream.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

It is known that the vast majority of people can go into at least a light trance, this is sufficient for most hypnotherapeutic goals.  Even if, in rare circumstances, you don’t go into trance then the solution focused psychotherapy part of the session will be of benefit.

Will I remember what happened during Hypnosis?

You will remember most things but not all, but this is the way the memory normally works. For example, when you listen to a speech you don’t remember everything that has been said., but you will recall the majority of it. The same applies with Hypnosis.

Does Hypnotherapy work online as well as it does face-to-face?

I have worked as a Clinical Hypnotherapist since 2007. Most of that time I was working in my clinic and getting very good results. Now I work 100% online and I am getting the same results. The only area that changes is it possibly takes slightly longer to build therapeutic rapport, but luckily this comes quite quickly anyway.

You will need to consider where you will be for your online sessions. Does it need to be private? Do you have a place where you won’t be interrupted? Do you have a reasonably good internet connection?
